My very first flowers out of the garden.
Yes it is spring indeed!

Some nostalgia
This I found in my diary. My first "Oh Henry!" bar and I was hooked. You could not buy these in Holland at that time (1959). I was actually in Metz, France where my big brother and his family were stationed on the Canadian Army base. On January 11 we all went to the movie including my niece Nellie and nephew Geoff. The movie? "High Society" all in English and that for a girl with basic knowledge of the language.
I also went to a party on New Years eve with my sister in law Willy. I did not like it very much it seems, because I wrote: "These Canadians have such a heavy accent I could not follow them!"
Because the English I was taught in College was British English.

This is me when I was 18 years old. I found this in my diary, which I was writing during that time.
I have mentioned this before that I am translating this diary (at the request of my children). I started when I was 16 and I am half way done it is quite a project. I wrote almost five years and very, very detailed. What time I got up, going to bed, the friends I had, or did not have. My mother's dying of cancer (the same type I had). Then my father's mariage to his second wife who did not like me!
Reading through all of that makes me realize how happy I am now and how wonderful my life turned out. Just look at my husband's face and my chidren and than my precious grandchildren.
I can only say: "Thank you God!"
