New doctor

So today Ted and I met with our new doctor (in Ottawa) that is. That was an experience to say the least. Ted and I have had our health issues for which we need long term follow up. Colon, liver and skin cancer, Parkinson's, stroke, heart attack, thyroid, diabetes. cataracts (Anybody willing to sell us travel insurance?) Hahaha.

The doctor discusses two health issues per 15 min visit. Today those precious 15min (30min for both of us) were spend on discussing all of our medications, which she typed into her computer. I had brought all of Ted's medications in the original containers. She asked me how we keep track of it.

Ever since Ted's stroke I have been taking care of it by dividing the pills into a four part pill box for a week. We also have an alarm that goes every four hours (for the Parkinson medication) a womans voice reminds him: "It's time to take your pill!" It's time to take......up to five times. Funny though, Ted does not get annoyed with her at all, therefore, I call her my "sister wife"!Hahaha!

The doctor told us that she will, partnered with the Pharmacy at the Clinic, look after dividing the meds. Every two weeks they deliver them to us. All we pay for that incredible service is $4.12 every two weeks, the meds are free.
At first I thought no way I am in charge, but after discussing it makes sense, we'll never run out and the doctor is on top of it. They may have to be altered after she knows more about Ted's health.

The clinic is less than five min away from us. That's good since we have to go there a few times since we only get to discus two ailments per visit. I also found a dentist two min away. The next thing we need is specialist who continue treatment similar to that in Winnipeg. We both feel good, actually, I feel excellent except for my eyes. The cataract operations have not been as successful as compared to my sister and other people I know. Hence the large print!

All you need is someone to come a couple times a day and stand with their hands on their hips and say "Theo...Now, did you take your pills yet? Shongayonge..." Then you won't have to do ANYTHING!
