There is so much to do, I don't know whether I'm coming or going. Oh wait, I just told you we are going.
How do you get rid of 50 year's accumulation of stuff? Well, by putting it on the driveway with a sign "FREE STUFF". If I can help somebody, like new immigrant neighbours, I just give my surplus. There are cars stopping and loading up.
Over the weekend I'll have a driveway sale, hopefully I'll make a little bit of money then. If not, well then it'll go to the Can. Diabetes Assn.
Yvonne and Jason have been a great help so far. She has been looking at apartments. Jason is going to take over the sale of the house. Since he has been "Salesman of the year in Canada" for the last few years, who else would we trust? Guiding us step by step, for which we are so grateful beyond words!
We are actually following Ron and Lynne. Ron got a fabulous job offer in Ottawa, so they are also frantically trying to get their house in tip top shape. Without them we could not stay here. They both have been such a great help especially after Ted's stroke last February. Some situations can get a bit overwhelming and they are there to help when ever they can.
An other bonus, it is so much easier for Paul and Jennifer who live in North Carolina to visit us. The distance will than be cut in half, so they could drive.
Not only that, we have so many relatives living in Ontario.
The weather will be milder as well.
Do I grief the loss of our home? Yes, especially when I look at my beautiful garden. Having to give away the toys our grandchildren played with, so many memories. But....as I mentioned to Lynne, (us women are so much more sentimental!) "This is a time when you make decisions with your head and not your heart!"
I always have believed in going with the flow, because I am convinced God is leading us. So many people go against the current and get exhausted, grasping for air etc.
How often is Psalm 23 taken for what it is worth?

Downsizing is the worst part. We went from a 3300 sq. foot house plus a fully finished basemnent to a smaller house of only 1925 sq. feet, and it was hard to know what to keep and what to get rid of. We sure don't regret the move though. We fortunately still have a basement the same size which is an advantage of a bungalow, so we still have lots of room for storage.
Hope your move goes well and you sell your house quickly.

Congratulations Trudy and Ted. This is wonderful news for you and your families. I wish you all the best in your 'New Beginnings'.No one told me the good news but I am so very happy for all of you. Anneka and Aila will be ecstatic to have Oma and Opa nearby. The Lord is doing Great things...and you will be very blessed. love you , nancy
Nancy we found out about Ron's new job for sure Monday eve. But I saw it coming, so I was mentally prepared. I have been looking at apartments for the last month, just to get the feel of them. Yvonne and Jason have been very helpful.
Colleen you are right downsizing is not easy. Jason always said, if you have not used or worn something in the last three to six months, you don't need it. With that philosophy in mind I went around the house. I'll tell ye, he can be very proud of me, hahaha! Some 50 years of accumulation.Because of all the pictures I had on the wall, I am stuck with ton's of frames. What to do, what to do!
HI,
We have been wondering whether or not the job came through for Ron. If it did then God is leading to Ottawa and we will see you around Christmas time when we are in Carleton place visiting Emilie & Christian
Moving is no fun after so many years of collecting STUFF
