Miley Cyrus http://www.people.com/people/article/0,,20320912,00.html was criticized by the media because she claimed it to be a cult. I got to agree with her. I personally feel I should NOT be watching it. When I believe that Christs blood was shed for me on the cross why would I be watching some show where vampires are sucking the blood out of an other person? Oh yes, they don't eat and they don't sleep and appear out of nowhere. Sorry I can't get into that. Call me stuffy, naive but......
If I would have young children I would definitely NOT allow them to watch that weird stuff.
Mind you in the first place, I have never enjoyed watching or reading anything that is not realistic. What ever I read has to be something to enrich my life. I need all the help I can get!

I'm with you on that point you made "watch or read something that is going to enrich my life". I'm like that I guess that is why I like self help books so much. I feel reading science fiction a huge waste of time. I guess that is why I have a stack of fiction books sitting around that I haven't read when I could be doing a bible study or reading the bible or a true life story about God's miracles and goodness in someone's life.
I think we wrestle against principalities and powers and by letting ourselves watch something that is not of God could infact be inviting evil into our lives unaware or worse yet knowingly aware.
I'm not perfect that's for sure and I may become curious to go and watch it some day so in my case, I am undecided about it all.
I know that some age 10 girls that I know have read all the books. I'm not sure about that. WWJD
