I had a very nice time in North Carolina seeing the family. It surprised me how the little ones took to me right away. Nico (three) held my hand voluntarily as we walked out of the Airport. He is fanatical about Thomas trains. has more than fifty and knows all the names. I said to him: "How come there is not an "Oma" train?" So "Tobi" train got a name change for the time being, hahaha!
That is one very busy house hold. The youngest Wil, almost one year, wants to be heard, unless, he has some food in his mouth! Can be noisy in the van, hahaha!
Sammy, is 10 and a big help already. Eliana does her share at six years old. (But tends to behave like a princes).
Jennifer is very much into healthfully made food without additives. Grinds the flour before making whole wheat bread or pizza dough by hand. Paul lost over 100lb since less than a year ago. He looks terrific! But she is in the kitchen a lot, that is, when she is not homeschooling the kids. I am amazed at her energy. Oh yes, she nurses Wil a few times.
Here at home,Ted was looked after very well by the kids for which I was very, very thankful. Ron came over one day and took him out. So did Yvonne, she spend time with him and took him to his favorite restaurant as well.
Sunday Ron, Lynne and the kids picked him up to take him out for lunch (they live 45min away, so not next door!)
While down south we were able to talk with him via WebCam.
I had also frozen a few dinners for him. So it worked out better than anticipated. Paul and Jennifer hope we can do this again. It was not long enough for them, (five days), but long enough for us under the circumstances.
