Tuesday late afternoon I came back from my weekend with Willy in Whitby. We had a nice time together. I had not seen her new apartment, she told me often how much she liked it. Well when I came in the first thing I said was: "I could get used to this!" She is on the ninth floor with a beautiful view and a good size balcony (something I would look for in an apartment).
My niece Nelly and her husband Peter came to pick me up from the Airport for which I was very thankful since I don't know my way around there. They had to drive a lot of km's, they also took me back. One of these days I am going to post a picture of Nelly and me when we were toddlers, there is a striking resemblance.
One of the things Willy and I did was going to the grave side. She had not been able to get herself to do that since she had purchased the stone. She could not remember where it was, so we split up and started hunting. Eventually I found it and I took some pictures with my cell phone.
As we drove home she said: "That was not as difficult as I had thought, I found it so peaceful there. But... she continued, when Dirk and I went shopping I always ended up looking for him and now he is dead I still had to look for him!" To which we both had a good laugh!
Willy is such a sweetheart. I mentioned before that when I was young I would visit them and when a teenager and my father remarried they could see that I was not treated fairly by my stepmother. As we reminisced she got angry all over again to which I said to her: "You know Willy, I have not forgotten that but I have no bitterness in my heart, because the Lord has given me so much to be thankful for!" Look at my life, a wonderful husband, children and grandchildren. family and friends, a nice home, a good job, why should I spoil that by being bitter ?"
I enjoy spending time with her and I hope I am able to do that again in the future. Ted finds it difficult to see me leave, even though I call him several times a day. I'd rather do these things together with him so that I don't have to worry about him. Ron and Lynne always invite him to come over, all though he loves that it does not make up for me he tells me. Well, I am glad that it is this way than the other way around.

Hi Aunt Trudy,
Every day I remind myself how blessed I am with my beautiful family, health, happiness...(I could go on......). Like my sister-in-law Nancy says, "Pull that weed & don't let it wreck your beautiful garden!"
Summer is coming....time to have you two for dinner on the deck and have Timmy grill your favourite mushrooms!!!
Take care!
