My weekend

I have not been around for a while. Nothing much to tell. I am sure you are NOT interested in the drama's that I experience at work. Besides, THAT would take pages.

Yesterday was the 77th Birthday of Kees a long time friend of ours. We have known them for some 45 to 46 years. So Kees, Miep (Maria as she would liked to be called) Ted and I went out for dinner. We did that last year as well. Afterwards we invited them to our place for dessert and coffee. On such occasions I am very thankful for my freezer, hahaha!

I have to tell you that Kees must be the most energetic 77 year old I have ever known. he still goes skying, he walks several miles everyday. He told me that he is not one to keep company on such walks as he walks like a maniac!! So I have not invited my self yet, even Miep prefers the mall walking.

For the rest Ted and I had a nice quiet weekend.

Today I have an appointment with our family physician for my yearly check up (as if I don't have enough doctor's visits). But she insists she wants some credit for my total well being!!

I have also booked a flight for both of us to visit Paul and Jennifer and the girls in North Carolina. After hearing that I had gone to Ottawa, Samantha 6, called me and said: "Oma now it is our turn, we want to see you and Opa too!" She is absolutely right of course. But to go down south takes a few more days for me to take off from work. Since my boss Roelie is away for seven weeks and returning the end of March I pretty well have to wait until they are back.

We will be going from April the 8th till the 15th.

Good idea.
April is the perfect time to be away from Winnipeg, when winter seems to drag on and on and on...

We can't wait. It is already beautiful down here so it should be the perfect weather at the beach. I think one day, I would love for just you and I to go out shopping. Paul is looking forward taking you out on the beach with his new metal detector. Sammie is so excited! She has already told Brennen that Opa and Oma are coming and Eliana keeps rehearsing, "Opa, Oma, Opa, Oma". She has it down pat.
