The wonders of the sky

As Ted and I were driving down the Perimeter we could not
help but see the beauty of the sky. Luckily Ted always carries
his beloved digital camera with him.

Thought for today!

Our concerns, big and small, seem to stick to us like Super Glue.

The solution?

We need to take those burdens off our own hands and give them to our God.

The Bible tells us: "Cast your burden on the Lord, and He shall sustain you" (Ps. 55:22).

So........... why do we carry around those sticky burdens?

Well?

Grandmothering 2

Anneka is modeling her vest, she was even doing the cute runway turns!

Very artistically put together, all about a ladybug! I could tell that some kid's talents came through!

Anneka had an ethnic day at school to which she could invite one person and Oma was it. That I felt honoured is an understatement!
By the sight of all these cute faces, well it is no wonder they had to have an ethnic day!
I asked Anneka, which of these is your friend? She looked at me with those big eyes of hers and replied: "Well Oma all of them are!" Knowing Anneka, that did not surprise me!

Below, look at those cute faces!

But the food.....well you had to be brave!!!! Anneka started peddling the "Speculaas" cookies I had bought in the Dutch store. Then she whispered to me: "How come nobody eats them?" Hahaha!

Above picture we took ourselves, just to proof I was there!! Anneka did not think anybody else was able to take one!!!!

Grandmothering!

The Graduation (pre-school) class of 2007

Note that the boy next to her is NOT impressed!

They even got a certificate!

Above picture was taken by Aila, she did very well, don't you think?

Haircut Conversations!!

*A Woman's Conversation About a Haircut:*

Oh! That's so cute!

Do you think so? I wasn't sure when she gave me the mirror. I mean, you don't think it's too fluffy looking?

Oh no way! No, it's perfect. I'd love to get my hair cut like that, but I think my face is too wide. I'm pretty much stuck with this stuff I think.

Are you serious? I think your face is adorable. And you could easily get one of those layer cuts that would look so cute I think. I was actually going to do that except that I was afraid it would accent my long neck.

Oh, that's funny you'd think that! I would love to have your neck! Anything to take attention away from this two-by-four I have for a shoulder line.

Are you kidding? I know girls that would love to have your shoulders. Everything drapes so well on you. I mean, look at my arms. See how short they are? If I had your shoulders I could get clothes to fit me so much easier.

*A Man's Conversation About a Haircut:*

Haircut?

Yep.

Time off!!

Two men working in a factory were talking.
"I know how to get some time off," said one.
"How are you going to do that?"
"Watch," he said, and climbed up on a rafter.

The foreman asked what he was doing up there, and the man replied. "I'm a lightbulb."
"I think you need some time off," the foreman said, and the first man walked out of the factory.

After a moment, the second man followed him. "Where do you think you're going?" the foreman shouted. "I can't work in the dark," he said.

My weekend cont.

By the very artistic banners you can tell that we, well, celebrated Fathers day and Jason's Birthday, which was June 5th (Jason was very impressed with my effort! It must have taken you a long time !)

Four candles for four grandchildren who have a chance to blow (and spit) out the candles on the cake.

Having a tea party with Aila was also a treat. She acted very grown up and even called me "dear".

My weekend

Friday and Saturday I basically spend my time outdoors, mowing the lawn and tending to my flowers and scrubs. Pulling out weeds etc.

J

Just to think that I planted every single thing around the yard well I am very proud of that!

*Application*

An applicant was filling out a job application.
When he came to the question, "Have you ever been arrested?" He wrote, "no."
The next question, intended for people who had answered in the affirmative to the previous question, was "why?"
The applicant answered it anyway: "Never got caught."

Our Office

I promised some pictures so here they are.
This the building, the office part is at the side with the windows.
Landscaping is still in the near future plans.

Below is our moving day! Uh no...., filing cabinet has to be turned. (Ted told me I look rather bossy there!) Debbie is also very busy doing......whatever, moving stuff around I think! hahaha!

Below: This is what the office looked like this morning when I came to work.

Above you see our calendar board on which we post the jobs on the days as they are reserved by our clients. Below Rolina, my boss and me having our coffee. We look rather happy and content don't we?

My weekend

Sunday lunch is so much fun at Oma's

Opa and the girls, (he still has his computer glasses on I noticed!)

Here we are wishing, wishing for what? Aila wished that oma would not go to Ottawa, wait a minute, I reminded her, You are going to Ottawa. She started with a new flower and said: "I wished, I wished, I am NOT going to Ottawa!" Now really she does not comprehend the whole moving thing!

Here is Lynne tending to Hudson who had hurt his arm, left is Aila then Evan.

This is adorable Alyssa, who loves it (just like the other babies) when Oma sings a Dutch song, "Klap eens in je handjes, blij, blij, blij."

Hudson is nursing his sore arm.

Cousins can really love each other, and this is the proof. Aren't these cute pictures?

Since Yvonne and Jason had to go to Ottawa for their house hunting this weekend, we had the g
irls for most of the time. We took lots of pictures, afterall how many weekends will we be having them!
For Sunday lunch Ron and Lynne and the grand kids came over. I had promised the girls we would go to the park with the boys as well, which is a real treat for them.
