Some more Holland

Well does this look good or what. This we found in a bakery called "Tummers" in my hometown Heemstede. This bakery was there already when I was growing up.. We found out that the owners used to live in BC. But after a trip to the "old" country they decided to buy this bakery. Well each piece of pastry looked like a master piece. In the back of the shop they had a restaurant where Yvonne and I sat down for coffee and yes pastry. Yvonne was not that crazy about the coffee, it was a rather strong cup of expresso. Yvonne's picture speaks for it self!!

Our next stop after some more shopping was to sit down for some croquettes in this "gezellig" cozy cafeteria. We ordered "patat" fries and when the girl brought the food to our table the fries were all done up beautifully on a platter. I commented to her what a nice job she had done as we did not expect that. "Well" she said: "I did that extra nice for you." It seems that we were treated so nice in Holland. I was trying very hard to talk good Dutch, half the time I would talk a mixture. Yvonne had to remind me, Mom Dutch. Would I have been there alone I would have blended in a lot faster. But because I had to speak English to Yvonne and Dutch to the family, my mind was not able to keep up, hahaha.
