73 years young

Guess, who has a Birthday?
That's right, my better half! Actually it was yesterday the 17th.
Now does he look like he is 73 years? Nah!

Today the family is coming over to celebrate this big event.
And a big event it is. This month Ted (Theo) has been totally cancer free for 3 years. That we are overjoyed is an understatement.

Yesterday I went to buy a cake for him at Safeway, looking around I found one, but I was not quite sure whether it was suitable. While I was waiting, for them in the bakery, to put "Happy Birthday Opa" on it; another lady was waiting for them to find a cake she had ordered the day before. She got panicky and said to me"I hope they find it" I responded," do you need it for today?" "O yes," she said.

While we waited patiently, I said to her."They don't have all that much to choose from, what do you think is this one suitable for my 73 year old husband?" She looked at me with a puzzled look and then asked: "Yes I think so, but how old are you?" Now I looked puzzled. So I said:"I'll let you guess". She responded, without much thinking, 50. "50?" I said, I am 65!". To which she replied, I say 50 and I am sticking to it!"

May be she thought I had married an older man for his money; which is not so, I married him for his brains!
I told her she just made my day.

Yes they found her cake, and I found another one more suitable, with LOTS of icing as that was Ted's request

Happy Birthday Schat!!
I love you

.....and they say wisdom come with age; I am still working on that. I need some more time.

Anyways, thanks to all who made this a memorable day for me, and thanks to God for His grace throughout the years!!
