When Yvonne was about the age of Aila, she might have been two. We had bought her a pair of red rain boots, she was sitting in the car. Stuck out both her legs and with a big smile, and with her very limited vocabulary (she makes up for that now), she said:"HAPPY BOOTS!"
We used that slogan a lot as she was growing up, and if I wanted to find out if she was content and happy with something, I'd asked, HAPPY BOOTS?
Ever since Yvonne was a teenager on Friday she would ask her Dad if she could borrow $5.00 or something. We are still waiting........
When Yvonne was taking piano lessons, people were wondering how I got her to practice. Well, it was simple, after supper, practice or doing the dishes! Hello, guess what!

Hi Trudy,
I don't think I've ever commented before even though I have come here a number of times to browse and read updates! (I'm one of Nancy's blogger buddies). I'm so glad to see the chemo is over!
Finally! A hint on how to get my little girl to practise the piano! I'll have to think of a different opposing task, though! Loading the dishwasher isn't enough of a trade off!
That's great! Give a choice...I do that with a lot of things.
It works everytime!
Don't forget.....you also divided my allowance into 5...and I got 1/5th of it for each day I practiced. If I wanted the full amount on Friday night, I had to have completed all 5 days of practice. THAT WORKED WELL!
And weren't they white fur-trimmed boots? I seem to recall...hmmm...
