I didn't know that!

As you know I go to Aquafit, which is a program organized by a committee in our Condo. Our class is twice a week for an hour with an experienced instructer. I usually swim a bit afterwards. Swimming has never been my favorite pastime. I don't like getting wet, so since I am wet anyways, I figured I might as well swim back and forth a few times until all the ladies are gone (for safety reasons I don't like to be alone in the water).
So as I was swimming the instructor asked me if I like swimming, "me?" I said: "Not at all, but I want to stay fit!" As I was holding on the the side of the pool we talked for a while about some of the things I do to stay fit. (Which are actually not nearly enough) I mentioned my commitment to stair walking. She told me that I have to do equal time going up and down. Than I realized that during our water routines she indeed always does the reverse as well.

She went on to tell me that one of the reasons people have bad postures and tend to slightly bend forward when they walk, (especially as we get older) is because we do NOT walk backwards.

So....... if by chance you happen to come up to the 21st floor in our building and you see me walking backwards and banging into the fire escape door at the end of the hall, you know I am doing what my instructor told me to do!

That is interesting. Scary but interesting. I'd be afraid to go down or up the stairs going backwards. Just stay safe, K?
