Flax seeds

I have been eating ground flax seeds for a long time now. I would buy the dark brown kind (I thought that was all there was). Until Ted bought me a bag of Golden Roasted Milled, very expensive ($6.99 for 500 gram)but he told me I am worth it. I won't argue about that. I loved his remark and the flax :-).

Since we have been going to the bulk barn lately, I discovered that there are different kinds. I bought the golden for about $1.50 for 500 gram, so quite a bit cheaper (even though I am worth the expensive kind, hahaha). Then I roasted them in a frying pan on med heat. Had to keep that pan moving because the seeds like to jump up at ye! Then I ground them and I was very pleased the way they tasted. So incredibly delicious on yogurt for instance. By the way there is no difference nutritionally wise between the dark or light.

Its high content of alpha linolenic acids has made the ancient flax seed become our modern miracle food. It has so many health benefits for you. I read that you can roast them in the oven on a cookie sheet 20 min on 250. I have not tried that.
