Cancer update

Later on to day I have to go to the Oncology Clinic for a blood test. No other tests this time, unless they see something questionable in the lab, next week I see Dr Harris for the result.
We both are the Oncology Clinic's two "walking wonders". Ted's last liver operation will be seven years ago and my cancer soon will be five years ago.

As some of you might recall, the name of this blog originally set up by Yvonne to keep people up to date about my progress at that time was tittled "www.callforprayer.blogspot.com". The result of course was, lots of people prayed, all over the world.
Was it just the prayers or the excellent care our Canadian Health System provided? Definitely both, without the incredible knowledge of the surgeons, we'd be long dead and buried. Science and prayer have been proven to work together and are in need of one and other. Many Universities teach prayer and the power of it as part of medical training.

When Ted was operated on the liver to remove part of it (it has grown back again), the Surgeon had a new cutting device to seal the organ instantly. Instead of bleeding a lot, he lost half a cup of blood, amazing! Don't you think so?
I manage to live with only one third of my colon and eat anything I want.

I just finished reading two books my friend Miep loaned me, by Ken Follett, called The Pillars of the Earth and World without end
A story about the early church in 1200+ and the building of a Cathedral in a fictional town of Kingsbridge. How the churches were financed by the poor peasants. I am now totally intrigued by how the early church operated. The motives of the leaders was more than often for personal gain.

How they cared for the sick was also unbelievable. Cow dung on large wounds was acceptable by the church, and many other strange "solutions" (so they thought). Herbs, spices, vinegar or warm wine, (meaning the alcohol in it) was totally not tolerated, that was classified as witchcraft and heresy, the result for the "pharmacist" was dead by hanging.
Then the way the poor peasants were treated, so inhumane. We are living in such a wonderful time.

So again, do I believe in medical intervention, yes of course I do, but prayer is a very important part of my life. We do our best and God does the rest!

True, true.
