Oma Bears

Since Yvonne, Jason and the girls will be leaving next Tuesday, it is an emotional time for all of us. For Jason especially it is very hectic and I am sure nerve recking. For us girls well you know how that is, we carry our emotions on our sleeves so to say.

Debbie at work made a fantastic suggestion. Breanne her daughter was only12 years old when her Daddy died a few years ago. A Teddy bear that her Daddy had given to her became very special to those lonesome moments. Debbie suggested why not buy the girls one that when they miss their Oma they can snuggle the Teddy bear. So of we went to Wal-Mart, that is Yvonne, Anneka , Aila and me.

We found some Hallmark Teddies $30.00, prices down to $8.97, what a steal! They were just adorable. So adorable, Yvonne wanted one and so did I. We bought a few heart shaped key chains in which we put for them Opa and Oma's picture, in mine pictures of the girls. So we are all set when the tears come!! Anneka took the picture of Ted and me, good job Anneka!

Update

Today we were at the cancer clinic to meet with Dr. Harris to get the results from my recent tests. Guess what, I'll be around for a while! (That means they were perfect.)

Next series of tests to be done in January. Before that time I will be getting a colonoscopy and a mammogram.

They sure are on the ball or should I say, Dr Harris is. She is an excellent oncologist with very little small talk, hahaha!

In case you are wondering I gained two kilo's since my last visit. How come everybody thinks that is great except me?

Sunday Lunch cont...

Too many relatives proved to be a little too much for 16 month old Lucas, Mommy Sandra, our nephew Tim's wife, knows what to do about that!

Hmmmm, not bad, Jason probably thinks about the picture he just took!

From left Yvonne, Lynne, Monique, Nancy and Sandra.

All the while Alyssa is just looking pretty, sat there very quietly playing with some toys!

Evan and Aila having a good time!

The girls just being silly! From the left, Lynne, Yvonne, Nancy and me.

Here Anneka seems to be coming to the rescue. Hudson thinking: "She must know what she is doing!"

Sunday Lunch

(Click on the pictures to enlarge)

We had Sunday lunch over at Ron and Lynne's place and as you can see Lynne out did her self. After Ted took this picture more food was added. Thank you Lynne and Ron for the wonderful day! The reason for this special lunch was because of Yvonne and Jason's last Sunday here. (next week they'll be packing). We invited our extended family as well, which included Nancy my niece (Ted's side) and her two girls Monique and Chantal. They are visiting here from Guelph ON for two weeks, since we had not seen them for quite a while this was a real treat.

Here they are having fun in the sun. Uncle Ron entertaining Chantal, Anneka, Hudson and Evan.

Well Uncle Ron you had it coming!!!!!

Jehovah's witnesses who are they?

A dear friend of mine called me a few days ago very much distraught after a visitation by some Jehovah's witnesses. I explained to her that to scare people is not right. Their way of getting your attention is by using earthquakes, tornado's etc. For young Christians not established in the word this can be a terrifying experience. The Bible gives us hope and peace. Jesus tells us that he will never leave us nor forsakes us.

Matthew 24:6"You will be hearing of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not frightened, for those things must take place, but that is not yet the end.Matthew 24:5-7 (in Context) Matthew 24 (Whole Chapter)
Mark 13:7"When you hear of wars and rumors of wars, do not be frightened; those things must take place; but that is not yet the end.Mark 13:6-8 (in Context) Mark 13 (Whole Chapter) you will hear of rumors etc.

There have been quakes since the beginning of time since it is a natural phenomenon. (Just Google it). We now "hear" of them more because of our highly sophisticated communications. Yes the day of the Lord is near but we as Christians have nothing to fear, hey that rhymes, hahaha, just made this up myself!!

I will never forget a evening (years ago) of listening to a former "witness" in our church. He told us that some of the nastiest people they encountered were the Christians. Slamming the doors in their faces etc. We have to remember that when they come in two's or more, the one person talking is training the others. If and when you share your faith talk to the trainee (in love not condescendingly) about the love of God and His Son Jesus and the Holy Spirit and the peace you experience daily. They do not believe in grace, since it is a religion of works. Please watch the following video.

Aila's Birthday

You might wonder who's Birthday it is,
blowing out candles is a "cousin affair",
except Evan is upset because he did not get his share, hahaha!

"No problem" ,Oma said: "I'll light them again!"
That is one of the reasons I use the tall candles!
It is amazing how important these things are to the little ones.

Tomorrow is Aila's Birthday party

Yvonne and Jason had a farewell party at a farm. Anneka came along but Aila is so afraid of flies and mosquitoes that she just did not want to go. She thought to go to Oma's would be a great idea. Since we are celebrating her 4th Birthday here tomorrow I took her to Dollarama to pick out balloons, streamers plates, napkins, hats and whistles etc. She was just so excited about having a party so when we came home we decorated our living room as you can tell from the following pictures. There was some climbing involved.

As a reward for all my work, Aila rewarded me with a puppet show, she told me to sit down and enjoy the show!

Just a reminder!!!!

Luke 12:15, 20, 21 (New Trudy's Version)

15 Jesus has said, "Watch out! Be on your guard against all kinds of greed; a man's life does not consist in the abundance of his possessions."

20 God has said, "You fool! This very night your life will be demanded from you. Then who will get what you have prepared for yourself?"
21 "This is how it will be with anyone who stores up things for himself but is not rich toward God."
